My Little Piggies

During one of those beautiful spring like days, the boys and I were outside playing as we love to do. Ok, I was sitting (in the shade) while the boys played. The houses next door to us are in the process of being built and the backyards are basically a dirt pile right now. We are enjoying these yards as dirt tracks for our four wheeler and monster trucks and on this particular day a mud pit. Max asked if he could play in the dirt at the edge of the yard. It wasn't long before Jack joined him making worm cakes, I think. Well, of course they needed some water for their cakes...and then a foot accidentally went into the muddy water...and then Max just accidentally fell head first into the mud pit. And then it was over. For the next hour, the boys had a hay day jumping and diving into a pool of ankle deep muddy water. They had a blast!!! And if the truth be told, I had a great time watching them. We would have played longer but someone started throwing mud at his brother and it was time to start cleaning up. So I hosed them down outside first with all their clothes on and then stripped down before I let them get in the tub. They had mud caked in their ears and hair. They were so NASTY!!! The only damage that was done was their tennis shoes. I didn't realize during the mud fun that they had on their good tennis shoes not play shoes. But after a few runs through the wash, they recovered too!! Here are some pics from our fun day in the mud!!
