It has been crazy around the Jones house lately. I have several posts that I am working on right now, but I can't seem to get any of them finished so here is a recap of our past few weeks.
My Grandmother passed away about a month ago. She was my last living grandparent. It's sad to realize that the time with them is over. She was 92 years old and lived a wonderful life and her health had been deteriorating over the past year, so we knew the end was coming. I have a post I am working on about her life because I feel like what she went through is very interesting and admiring.
That next weekend, Will and I ran to Birmingham for a radio show where Will talked about roofing and our business. I made my radio debut. ha ha I had NO intent on actually talking on the radio, but the host of the show had another thing in mind. He convinced me to just sit in the room with them, and then just to wear the headphones, and then 30 seconds before we went on the air he told me that he MIGHT ask me a few questions. It was fun, but Will said my face was bright red the whole time! When we got home that evening, Jack started having trouble breathing and after trying all our asthma medicine that usually helps, we decided to make a run to the ER. We spent 6 hours there (none of that was wait time-all medicine time) and was released around 2am. Jack was better not his best but better when we got home. The next morning, he was worse. Luckily my pediatrician's office is open on Sundays, so we made a run back to Huntsville that morning and with a few changes to his medicine he started feeling better. I hate asthma!! It is heartbreaking to see your child unable to breath! Very scary!!
Once Jack was feeling better, we packed up and headed to my Dad's house in Birmingham for a few days. Will had to work at the Birmingham office, so we all decided to go. It was nice to change scenery for a few days. I got to eat lunch with Marianne and 2 of her sweet kiddos and then I got SUPER brave and with help from Will's Mom took the kids to McWane Center. They had a dinosaur exhibit and Jack was in heaven. He stayed at the dinosaur dig for at least an hour. It was fun but exhausting for me.
This past Saturday, I made my way down to Hartselle to participate in a 5K for sweet baby Ella Ray. It was so much fun seeing all my Phi Mus and a few other great friends. While they ran and walked, I socialized (my favorite thing to do! ha ha). I haven't laughed that much in a while! Thanks for all the hard work that went into the event, I totally enjoyed myself!! ha ha It was a great morning to celebrate a beautiful little girl that is definitely a tough cookie. She has been through a ton in her short life and continues to get stronger and inspires so many!
On Sunday, we got to celebrate with our niece Jewel because she decided to be baptised! It seems like yesterday, she was the little girl playing makeup and dress up with me and now she is this beautiful preteen growing up in front of our eyes. After lunch with Will's family, I decided to rest because I wasn't feeling well and Will took the boys over to his parent's farm to play in the mud. I mean roll around like pigs in the mud. When they got home, they were covered in mud!! In their ears, in their hair-everywhere.
That evening unfortunately I wasn't feeling any better. My stomach and back had been cramping all day and I got concerned because that is what started happening when I went into preterm labor with Max. I started contracting with Max at 29 weeks and being 26 weeks then, I was afraid it was starting again. After talking with the after hours nurse, we decided to head to L & D just to be cautious. Luckily, nothing was happening and I could have even been dehydrated. I was so glad and grateful. The thought of starting medicine to stop the contractions is very depressing to me. Don't get me wrong, I will be happy to take them if I have to but the uncontrollable shaking and bed rest is NOT what I would choose this far out.
I am about to enter my 3rd and final trimester and I am glad for it almost to be over. This pregnancy has been my hardest so far. The nausea still comes and goes. I will feel great for a few days and then start gagging again for a few more days. I haven't thrown up in a week, so I am hopeful that maybe it's over. Who is still throwing up at 27 weeks!!! Crazy!! Especially when I didn't throw up at all with the other pregnancies! It's just like they say, Every pregnancy is different!! Jack is getting so excited about his new baby brother. He told us the other night that he was not going to be mean to this baby or argue with him or fight with him. We told him that he didn't have to do that with Max and he explained that Max is mean to him too. ha ha Max isn't so excited about the baby, but I'm sure he will love him when he gets here. Or I hope he will. We have picked the baby's name, but for some reason I don't want to blog it yet. Most of our family and friends we see know it by now, but for some reason I like the idea of it being a surprise to some people. I may give in before he's born but right now I like the secret of it. Our 4D ultrasound is next week, so maybe I will post it then. He's definitely getting stronger. This week I have been able to feel him move and kick when I am walking around. His most active time is at night when all the other boys are asleep. Will says he probably thinks, "Thank goodness, it's finally quiet out there!" ha ha
Sorry for the crazy post, but as you can see it has been CRAZY around here!! Hopefully I will post some pics soon!
