Ryleigh Elizabeth Clayton is Chenequa's 2nd daughter born Tuesday, September 14th, 2010. Chenequa and I have been best friends for over a decade now and we all have been so excited about her second little girl coming soon. In fact, on the Monday night before, Chenequa and I drove over to Florence to have dinner with our great group of friends for Whitney's birthday. I told Chenequa the next day the reason she went into labor was because we laughed so much that night. What makes this story so exciting is that Chenequa and Hannah are living in Athens with her aunt and uncle because her husband Brett got a new job in Nashville and didn't need to move at 9 months pregnant. Ryleigh was suppose to make her apperance the next Wednesday on the 22nd because that was when the C section was scheduled. On Tuesday morning, the 14th I woke up to my phone ringing at 6am. I had left my cell phone on the dining room table and thought the first time it rang that I must have set my alarm. Then when it rang again, I knew something was up. I called Chenequa back and she told me her water had broke and would I mind driving her to the hospital. We had already talked about if something didn't go as planned, that I would if all possible drive her to Helen Keller hospital in the Shoals because her aunt and uncle would need to take care of Hannah. So as soon as I could THROW clothes on, I took off to pick her up. I tried to hide it, but I was a nervous wreck!!! Chenequa was calm and cool as a cat, and I was freaking out!! She wanted to stop for a sausage biscuit and a coke on the way and I know better than to tell a pregnant woman no, so we made 1 stop en route. Of course Brett was on his way from Nashville, but I kept thinking what if we get there and they rush her back for the C section. What am I going to do?
Once we got to the hospital, I laughed and told her I felt like her husband because I was rushing around her, carrying all her bags, admitting her into the hospital. Luckily they were able to hold off the C section until Brett and their families arrived. Mainly because of that sausage biscuit she ate-oh well. ha ha Ryleigh Elizabeth was born around 12:10pm weighing 8 lbs 5 oz and 20 inches long!! She's a doll!! I told Chenequa that I was going to give Ryleigh her first spanking for causing me so much stress!! ha ha It was a wonderful day and definitely an adventure!
Brett, Hannah, and Chenequa right before Ryleigh arrived!
Brett and I wore the same Tshirt that day!! ha ha
Sweet baby Ryleigh
Chenequa's daughters are born on 2 of our friends birthdays. Hannah was born on Melissa's birthday and Ryleigh made her appearance on Sonia's birthday. Both of my boys share those friends husband's birthdays!! Jack was born on Stuart (Melissa's husband) birthday and Max on John (Sonia's husband) birthday.
Isn't that weird!!

Love the entry! I probably should blog about it too but you know me, one entry every month is about my limit. Love you, best friend!
