Wild Weekend

The Jones Family is MOVING!!!!

Next weekend(hopefully) we are heading to Baton Rouge, LA. We had a weekend full of decluttering & packing. It is so refreshing to open boxes/tubs of stuff that has been in storage for years. I am committed to reorganizing our stuff and making it work better before we restore it or move it! Our front porch looked a little redneckish though, b/c items went straight from the attic outside. Remember that show on TLC where they had to bring everything outside and decide to keep it, trash it, or sell it. Well, we only had donate or keep...no time for selling. It was helpful to see it all outside of its normal place and make a QUICK decision to stay or go. I think we have donated about 8 bags full and 2 boxes overflowing to charity. We still have a long way to go, but you have to start somewhere, right? My house is in complete disarray right now, but I can't see how it won't be until the weekend. Will is already back in BR right now, but he will be home around the middle of the week to finish up some things here and help me finish packing.

We hired movers for the first time!!! I am so excited! Probably not as excited as our friends and families that have helped us in the past, but still excited! We are hoping to leave pretty soon on Saturday and stay in Birmingham Saturday night at my Dad's house. One of my sweet friends from college is getting married and I am trying to make it work out so I can attend her wedding in Bham Saturday night. Then, Sunday we are planning on heading on to Baton Rouge!! The 2 hr. jump start on the trip will help the boys...we hope!!

I will post pics as soon as we get settled. We signed a 6 month lease on an apartment, b/c we aren't planning on staying much longer than that if we can. I haven't lived that far from my family and I feel like 6 months will probably be my limit, but it is in the Lord's hands where/when we leave and head from there!! Isn't that exciting?!? I truly have NO idea where we could be in a year from now!! Most would go crazy with this lack of info, but I think its exciting!!

Since we are downsizing a little, we decided to put some things in a storage unit in town. I had a funny thing happen while I was there setting it up...on the contract it explains that the storage unit CAN NOT be used as living quarters. I kinda laughed and said thats sad that you have to actually put that in the contract. One of the guys working there speaks up explaining that it happens more than you would think. We stood there and discussed for like 5 minutes what the perks would be living in a storage unit....yeah...for instance: very low rent...like $75 a month...lots of privacy...security....he suggested upgrading to the climate controlled..no utility bill...running an extension cord to your home away from home...I don't think the lady running the place was at all enlightened from our conversation. She quickly barked some orders to the guy to get to work and we got the hint.

Jack has been very anti-Louisiana lately. I am not sure he understands what he is against, but he is standing firm in his decision to not go with us. I think once his toys are packed and he understands that they will be going he may change his mind. We will see!!

On a different note: Max said Da da this weekend. Well, he pretty much yells it at us. I am not surprised that his first word is da da, but a mom can hope right? I mean I AM the one with him 24/7 these days...I AM the one making bottles, changing diapers, and playing with him while Will is away, but nope Will came in Friday night and Max says it. Boys and their Daddys have a special bond. I love my boys!! All of them!

With Max saying Da da, I asked Jack what he wanted Max to call him. Maybe Bubba or Brother...nope Jack said Perdy. I thought he said Pretty, so I questioned him again. He said, "No, Mama Perdy. You know like Perdy Butt!" WHAT? Where do they come up with this stuff?

I am crying I'm laughing so hard! Jack, I mean Perdy is hilarious and I have often wondered if anyone could get away with living in a storage unit.Let me know if you need any help this week. Packing, keeping kids or bringing supper one night!
