Yes, we are still at it! We haven't thrown the towel in just yet! This is definitely a commitment! I knew it would take hours and hours in the bathroom, but it is tough. If you aren't 100% ready yourself, you will give in quickly! Jack is doing good! I am a little concerned though because I have been setting the microwave timer for every 20-30 minutes for him to go try and pee. Every time the timer goes off, he reminds me that it is time to go pee. Great, huh? Well now every time I COOK in the microwave and its finished Jack yells Time to PEE!! I am afraid I have trained him like Pavlov trained his dogs with the bell to eat! Remember that in Psychology Class! I have decided to start a fund for Jack's therapy that he will need one day when he can't understand when he hears a timer/microwave go off he feels the urge to pee. Am I damaging my child??
I did take a little break today from parenting altogether. This is my 2nd week with the kids by myself and I have definitely been feeling overwhelmed. Will's mom was so great to watch the kids for me for a few hours so I could relax and take a shower undisturbed!! Isn't it amazing what you take for granted before kids! It was so funny when I picked them up because Jack met me at the back door wearing a tshirt, sock, and shoes. That's right nothing else! You will do desperate things to make a kid use the potty!
I will say that the conversations you have in the bathroom with your children about peeing and/or pee itself is quite amusing. We have talked about pushing the pee out, trying to make a splash with our pee, and even putting cheerios in the toilet to have something to aim at with our pee. Any more suggestions would be great! There is just so many ways I can think of to make a little one want to pee!
We have had our accidents in the house! I won't go into too much detail for you weak hearted ones, but my friends that have already been down this road YOU KNOW!
I do feel that my bathroom needs a little extra attention. Tomorrow I think I will clean DEEP clean the bathroom while I am in there. It seems that is where I am spending most of my time these days so why not?

that is so hilarious! i guess it give me something to look forward in a couple of years! your blog cracks me up. you should write a book about all this stuff!
Well, the joys of potty training!! Fun...fun...NOT!!! We are a TV watching family, therefore, the potty was in the back of the living room. I know...gross, but it worked for us. I would dump whatever after ea. usage. Also, I kept a sticker chart by the toilet. Everytime Caleb or Rylee used the potty, they chose a sticker to put on the chart. And of course, we took them shopping for major milestones!!! Good Luck and come a visit since you are home alone for awhile.
You crack me up! I'm glad you've got your dad's laptop so you can update more often... I enjoy your pee stories!
