A few weeks ago, we made a quick run to the beach. We couldn't have gone without some help and my Mom was up to the challenge. We went down to Destin for a weekend away before preschool started back and our usual routine was back in swing. We had a wonderful time!! It was so nice to put our feet in the sand for a few days. We left out Friday morning and arrived in the early afternoon. Since we had been in the car all day, we decided to get something great to eat and then relax the rest of the night. Saturday was a full day out on the beach and at the pool with all of us swapping out staying in the condo with Sam. Poor Sam didn't even touch his little toes in the sand this year. It was just too hot. Saturday evening we ate an early dinner and then headed to The Track for go cart rides, carnival rides, and the boys' first time to play putt putt golf. They loved it!! Momma and Sam retired back to the condo because of the heat and Will and I enjoyed our golf game with the big boys!! The first few holes we were running through them. The boys were so into it that we were racing around. We finally relaxed a little and took our time on the rest. When we got back to the condo, we headed out to crab hunt on the beach. Unfortunately we didn't make it out there because a glass bowl from a wedding reception was broken on the sidewalk (which no one told us) and Max got a piece of glass stuck in the bottom of his foot. So Will and I had to take Max to the ER and have the glass pulled out. Not exactly what we had planned but you got to do what you got to do. Max was a trooper and only cried while the dr pulled it out. It took all of us holding him down for him to get it out and the dr said that Max was the STRONGEST child he had ever wrestled with and I am sure he has wrestled a lot of little ones. Sunday we couldn't take Max swimming or to the beach because of his cut foot so Will took the big boys to the movies and Mom and I took Sam shopping. It was a great trip (other than the Max's accident) and we really enjoyed listening to the waves and relaxing before the craziness of school starts back.
