Visitors!!

We have had such an amazing week! My Mom & Larry came to visit last weekend and stayed for a few days! It was really great to see them and show them around our NEW neck of the woods. They arrived on Sunday afternoon and stayed until Tuesday morning. We acted like tourists the whole time trying to find all the local gems. If you EVER come to the Baton Rouge/New Orleans area you need to make the time to see The Nottoway Plantation. It is the oldest plantation home in the South. It is beautiful. You can actually stay the night there b/c it is also a bed and breakfast, but it was a little expensive so we just took the tour. Here are a few pics from the home.

These are from my favorite room in the house. The entire room was white-floor to ceiling. The family had 7 daughters and the father didn't want their dresses to blend in with the room so he painted the whole room white. They use this room for wedding now. It was overwhelming it was so beautiful!

After that we drove on to New Orleans because Larry had never been there. We ate in the French Quarter and spent the afternoon walking around. The weather wasn't the best but we made the most of it.

After Will got off work, he met us at Joe's Crab Shack for dinner and then we played cards back at our apartment. It meant sooo much to us that they would drive and spend a few days with us.

They left Tuesday morning and then Wednesday our niece Jewel came for the rest of the week. She was sooo much help with the boys. Jack really enjoyed her company!! We spent our time at the mall shopping most of the trip along with a trip to the zoo. The first time we went to the zoo we missed the train ride, so we made sure to catch it this time. Jack was so excited that the elephants were out this time too. I really enjoy having a zoo so close because on a beautiful day it is so much fun!

Max really enjoyed the zoo...Can you tell? ha ha

How awesome is it that you're so close to New Orleans and can go "grab a bite to eat in the French Quarter!"
