My Birthday Gift to my Sister!

My sister Alice's Birthday was on Monday and we decided to go shopping(our favorite activity) for her birthday today. We decided a few years ago that it is more fun to go and pick out your gift during a day of shopping than a surprise. I think it makes it more of an event than just a gift. Well...today was her day. We loaded up both her boys and Jack and hit the town. We were having a great time with only a few more spots to cover when it happened. We were leaving the Mall and loading Jack's stroller into my Tahoe when she decided to help me by holding the stroller in the back b/c the 3rd row makes the trunk area kinda tight while I closed the door. She thought I would close it slowly and then she could hold it until the door got close and then she slip her arm out. I thought she would hold it and then QUICKLY pull her arm out. She said OK, so I slammed. Yeah...I slammed her arm in the Tahoe door. I mean SLAMMED it on her arm right above her elbow. She then staggered to the front seat and almost passed out due to the extreme pain. I was sure I had broken her arm and called Will- who advised me to go into Target and buy some frozen veggies b/c she needed something cold on it asap. Within minutes it was swollen and turning black. So, we then went to the closest Urgent Care Emergency Room to have xrays done. Will met us at the Clinic to take the kids and to ask me, "How did you do that?" I replied, "I DON'T KNOW!! It was an accident." He is now calling me Amanda Soprano...not funny.

Unfortunately, this is NOT the first time I have injured one of my family members for their birthday. When I was in high school, I thought it would be a great idea to give my Mom a birthday whipping. After I picked her up I lost my balance and we both fell-my Mom's head hitting the ground first. A quick ambulance ride later, she was taken to the ER for a concussion. Yeah...I know!

Luckily, my sister's xrays showed only severe bruising of her arm/elbow and we were allowed to go home with an Ace bandage and some good meds.

I am now 2 for 2 in the worst birthday gifts ever. Hopefully, the rest of my family will stay away from me during their special day/event. Can you believe that?!? Just lucky I guess.
My sister is wonderful b/c she and I have had some good laughs today (mostly at me but that's the least I deserve I did kinda, sorta, almost break her arm)

Well...I tried- Happy Birthday Alice- Glad I didn't break your arm!!
